Mavala

Mavala Nail Polish & Thumb Sucking

Being a parent is one of the greatest gifts in life. You feel so blessed to be a mother. The satisfaction of seeing your baby come to life and happily sucking his thumb, makes your heart melt. You know what they say, “babies suck their thumbs because it’s soothing and comforting”. Although thumb sucking doesn’t have a negative effect on your baby, thumb sucking can become a habit.

Parents don’t need to go to extremes to stop their toddlers from sucking their thumbs. I would never recommend using the Mavala method. Mavala is a transparent formula with a distinct bitter taste to discourage your kids from putting their fingers into their mouths. The product claims to be break the thumb sucking habit, but kids complained about the bitter taste and when they suck their thumb, they got a full taste of the product which caused many of them to throw up several times.

You shouldn’t use Mavala on your kids. You should try Glovey Huggey. I wanted my seven-year-old son to stop sucking his thumbs before any harm was done to his teeth and jaw. When I first heard of Glovey Huggey, I wasn’t so sure if this new method was going to work. Within 2 weeks he stopped sucking his thumbs. The gloves really keep his mind off of the nasty sucking habit in a very stylish way.

The bottom line is, mavala nail polish can damage young smiles. As a mother, I don’t think parents should use nail polish to stop the sucking or biting thumb habit because most nail polishes, including mavala nail polish , contain harmful ingredients such as: formaldehyde, toluene, and acetone. I don’t care if mavala nail polish is a non-toxic nail polish, they still are using chemicals and they could harm your child’s health in many ways.

Concerned Mom.
